Are these the common characteristics of the Indian majority ?

Why do Indians tend to become characterless, dishonest, corrupt and self-centered opportunists most of the time with least regard to social responsibilities ?

Why is it that the corruption index of India keep on increasing year after year?

Why do rich Indians and powerful people tend to use their power greedily to amass more wealth and more power than they actually use in their life time?

Why do Indians have personal opinions different from their public opinions?

Why are they afraid of expressing their inner feelings?

Why are some Indians prosper in other countries, but not in their own country?

Why do affluent Indians use all their resources to be in foreign countries and make their roots in those countries for their heirs even as they milch India for their prosperity?

Why do most Indians want their children settle in the USA, UK, CANADA, GERMANY or AUSTRALIA rather than in their motherland and yet keep criticizing the cultures of those countries always in public and praise those in private?

Is there any thing wrong? Is it time to introspect ? Or is it that okay to accept these as  'Indian-ness' and leave it as such?

This site is meant for all those Indians concerned with these to think intelligently to act and do everything possible to make India a place to live in most dignified manner for all Indians regardless of economic status, religious or caste affiliations.

The basic cause of corruption is fear-fear of survival of self and family, coupled with greed and an absence of morality. A society where there is insecurity ensuring basic human needs such as food, clothing and shelter on an assured manner, people tend to hoard wealth in whatever manner they can depriving the society from its collective benefits. Such attitudes of greed, fear and selfishness originates from animalistic minds. That is, from minds of people that are not intellectually developed and matured to higher levels. It implies that corruption is possible to be eliminated, if the society achieves true education to evolve mature minds.

INDIA IS THE MOST RESOURCEFUL NATIONS IN THE WORLD WITH REGARD TO LAND FERTILITY, NATURAL AND MINERAL WEALTH, GEOGRAPHIC ADVANTAGES, CLIMATIC CONDITIONS, POPULATION STRENGTH AND MANY SUCH POSITIVE THINGS TO MAKE THE COUNTRY ONE OF THE MOST DESIRABLE LIVING PLACE IN THE WHOLE OF THIS PLANET.  THE INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT HAD BEEN THE ARENA FOR DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN CIVILIZATIONS FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS. YET IT IS ONE OF THE MOST MISMANAGED COUNTRIES POST ITS INDEPENDENCE FROM COLONIAL BRITISH RULE, IF ONE WERE TO COMPARE THE ACHIEVEMENTS MADE BY OTHER NOT SO FORTUNATE NATIONS DURING THE SAME PERIOD.

ITS NOT THAT INDIA AS A NATION HAS NOT PROGRESSED, BUT THE MOOT QUESTION IS WHETHER IT HAS ACHIEVED TO THE EXTENT IT OUGHT HAVE DONE.

MANY LEARNED INDIANS BELIEVE IN THE CAPACITY OF INDIA AS A NATION TO SURPASS ANY OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRY WITH REGARD TO THE QUALITY OF LIVING, PROVIDED IT IS MANAGED WELL AND ITS LEADERS HAVE THE WILL AND COMPETENCE TO DO IT.

FOR AN INHERENTLY HEALTHY AND WEALTHY PERSON, ONSET OF AN ALL DAMAGING DISEASE MIGHT SHOW ITS EFFECTS LONG AFTERWARDS, EVEN AT TIMES JUST BEFORE THE PERSON'S TOTAL COLLAPSE OR DEATH. THIS SITUATION WOULD BE MORE ALARMING IF THE PERSON CONCERNED IS EGOISTIC TO DECLARE HIS ILLNESS AND SUBMIT HIMSELF TO PROPER TREATMENT.

SUCH IS THE CASE WITH A COUNTRY TOO. FOR THE COUNTRY TO GET CORRECTED FROM ITS ILLS, ITS PEOPLE MUST FIRST RECOGNIZE THE FACT OF ILLNESS AND SUBMIT THEMSELVES FOR CORRECTIVE TREATMENT. OTHERWISE THE COLLAPSE CAN COME ANY TIME AFFECTING THE ENTIRE SOCIETY.

WILL THE INDIANS JOIN HANDS TO ASSESS THEIR ILLNES AND SUBMIT THEM TO CORRECTIVE TREATMENT?

True education is possible to be inculcated and it is possible for the Indians to become truly educated. True education does not mean achievement of literal literacy. True education stresses on inculcating values and character in students together with true skills in acquiring knowledge from various sources. Importance of human values such as love, goodness, honesty, social responsibilties, civic responsibilities, etc are to be taught to the children both at home and at schools at a very early stage of their physical and mental development. Re-training of teachers, at least those who teach young children, on these values is also essential. Besides, the over stress on passing examinations by mugging lessons and answers should be dispensed with altogether at lower classes.
